Update 11/06/04 Wow! Can you believe it? I finally got around to doing another update! At long last, part six of Tom Weaver's mammoth Herman Cohen interview has been posted up. This segment covers Herman's final years as an active producer, as he worked with legendary talents such as Joan Crawford on BERSERK! and TROG and Jack Palance on CRAZE. Attack
of the Monster Movie Makers: In addition, there are 15 new video CRAZE stills captured from the Paragon VHS. There's also a new TROG poster. And to wrap things up, check out John Scott's wonderful opening theme for BERSERK!
Update 8/21/04 After far too long a wait (it's been a busy summer!), Part 5 of Tom Weaver's Attack of the Monster Movie Makers interview is now online. Herman talks about making BLACK ZOO in Hollywood, then returning back to London for his one and only Sherlock Holmes movie, A STUDY IN TERROR (arguably his best film). Attack of the Monster Movie Makers: Herman Cohen, Terror & the Zoo To go along with this update, I spent some time pulling stuff together from the two movies in question and have a great offering for you! From BLACK ZOO, there is a new movie still and 20 VHS screen captures! A very kind contributor sent in the cover of this wonderful BLACK ZOO photo-magazine. I even captured a 38 second video clip of the movie's first kill in MPG format! I didn't neglect A STUDY IN TERROR either. You can check out 12 new captures from a very good DVD+R disc a friend in the UK sent over to me! One more part to go on Tom Weaver's interview, in which Herman talks about working with Joan Crawford on BERSERK! and TROG and with Jack Palance in CRAZE. Check back soon! Update 7/07/04 Part 4 of Tom Weaver's monolithic six part Herman Cohen interview is now online. In this part, Herman goes overseas to England, where he meets Michael Gough and makes HORRORS OF THE BLACK MUSEUM, THE HEADLESS GHOST, and KONGA. Attack
of the Monster Movie Makers: This is definitely Tom's week, because I also have a bunch of new behind-the-scenes photos courtesy of (you guessed it) Tom Weaver. There are 4 new pics from the set of I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF, 3 pics from HOW TO MAKE A MONSTER, and 5 from KONGA. Click on the respective thumbnail below to go to a gallery. Rare stuff folks, don't miss it! Lastly, there is a nice picture of Herman taken circa 1958 (also thanks to Tom!). Coming up in part five of the mega-interview, back to L.A. for a trip to the BLACK ZOO and then a return to London for A STUDY IN TERROR! Home > Updates Archive |
